A stochastic process is process with random output. In a scientific manner, it is an observed process with outcome that is not directly depends on the input, but it is in fact an unpredictable value. For example, measuring environment temperature is not depending directly on the moment in time, but it depends on the actual environment unpredictable interractions.
The term random process or random function are also used to refer to a stochastic process.
A stochastic process is the opposite of a deterministic process.
